Overview

The University of Waterloo Summer Accommodations is situated on the west side of the campus, a short walk from the main campus and all amenities. Front-desk and security staff are available on a 24-hour basis. Accommodations include single and twin rooms with two common washrooms (one for ladies and one for gentleman) on each floor. Each floor has a common lounge for after-hours networking, and guests are welcome to use the weight room, TV lounge and games room.


Food & beverage

Guests have access to a shared kitchen facility which includes a full-size fridge, stove/oven, kettle, microwave and sink. The kitchen is equipped with dishes and cookware as well as small appliances such as a toaster and coffee maker.

There are 21 food service outlets on campus and their locations and hours of operations are available at the front desk. There is also a large plaza located about 15 minutes walk away, with many of the restaurants offering delivery service to the residence.

Grounds & Gardens

Courtyards on both sides of the residence with shady trees and picnic tables create a pleasant outdoor space. Laurel Creek runs past the building making it a popular seasonal home for various wildlife.

Other facilities

Internet access is free and passwords for the wireless connection are available at the front desk. Ethernet cords can be signed out if guests prefer a wired connection. Laundry facilities are available in the central complex and laundry cards can be purchased at the front desk for $5.00.

Pool and Pingpong tables along with a big screen TV are available for use in the central complex. Sporting equipment and board games can also be signed out from the front desk. 

Guests are welcome to use the fitness centre located in the North Quad. Passes can be signed out from the front desk. 

Temporary luggage storage can be arranged through the front desk. 

Common rooms on each floor with television.

Irons, alarm clocks and fans can be signed out at the front desk.

UW’s main campus is located in the twin cities of Kitchener-Waterloo in southwestern Ontario, about 90 minutes' drive west of Toronto or three hours east of Windsor-Detroit. From east or west, follow highway 401 to exit 278, highway 8 West and proceed as below.

Follow 8 West to 7 East (an expressway called the Conestoga Parkway). Be sure to take the exit for 7 East, not 7 West.

Keep left; do not exit on 7 East (Victoria Street and Guelph). Expressway becomes 85 North (formerly 86).

Exit at University Avenue West and drive about 2 miles (3 km).

Turn at the Main Campus Entrance off University Avenue and follow red & white Conference Centre signs. The Conference Centre is located in Ron Eydt Village which is off of Ring Road

Turn at FED Hall turn onto Ring Road following the sign reading Conference Centre

Turn left at the Conference Centre sign

Drive past the Tutor Houses and turn right into the Ron Eydt Village cul-du-sac

Parking

Parking is available in Lots V and S which are just past Lot K, after you enter the campus.
